EDITORIAL
To The Editor,
We are writing to thank everyone who made our 2011 "Salem's Christmas Party" a success. From Chef John and his staff at Victoria Station who gave us the entire restaurant, their time and the incredible food, to the other restaurateurs and tavern-keepers who sold ornaments, to Pat Regan and his "Courthouse Party", to the 250 or so people who attended, bought raffles and bid on things in the silent and live auctions. Every one of you contributed.
Salem Children's Charity cleared more than $18,000 from the party. In the midst of the financial situation that we struggle with, that is truly amazing. The money is already at work easing the lives of needy Salem schoolchildren without the cost of overhead or delay of red tape. You will see an accounting of some of the things accomplished at some time in the Fall.
Thank you once again and, in the words of Tiny Tim, God Bless you, every one!
